Last Tuesday’s class was about guns. Yes, I can shoot. Yes, I have my own gun so don’t even think about breaking into my home to steal my books! LOL!
We were given a choice of several guns to use. I have a problem with hand strength. Can’t open jars either so don’t laugh. Ninety-nine percent of guns on today’s market have triggers which are too hard for me to pull. My own has been altered to make it easier for me to use. However, the guns at the Academy were not altered for my particular hand strength. Although I tried, I could only get the trigger back so far and that was it.
Alas, I was not going to be able to shoot even though I desperately wanted to try one of the Glocks. But a nice officer came to my rescue. His personal gun had a lighter trigger. Apparently the ones I had tried had five pound triggers but his had a three pound one. I managed to pull the trigger on that one.
So it was down to the target for me. The gun was loaded and I took aim. Eight shots later, the gun was empty and the target was definitely dead. Upon inspecting the target to see if I had hit it or missed it, we found one shot dead center. Yea for me! The rest of the shots, however, weren’t that good. There were seven shots going around the first one just barely missing center. This is me blowing smoke from the barrel of my gun. (Yes, I’ve been shooting since I was knee-high to my daddy’s ankles.)
