About Leeza
My Story
Leeza McBride is an award-winning author who was born and raised in the deep South. She started developing her writing career at an early age by making squiggles on paper before she knew her ABC’s. She sold her first piece of writing in her early twenties. She loves that first smell of a book as you open its pages and the wonderful feel of it in your hands. Like most writers, her house is filled with books she’s read countless times. In addition to writing, Ms. McBride is an award-winning photographer and specializes in nature and wildlife photography. When not writing or stalking the local wild critters, you can find her playing one of her many musical instruments including piano, hammered and mountain dulcimers, doumbec, zils, washboard and bones!
Personal Life
Leeza, a USAF Vietnam era veteran, grew up in the Deep South. She was born and raised in the countryside of Alabama. After graduating from Tuscaloosa County High School, Leeza joined the U.S. Air Force serving as a Medic during the Vietnam era.
After leaving the Air Force, she lived in several different states before settling in Iowa where she now lives with her little rescue dog, Buddy.
Need a Speaker for Your Upcoming Event?
Are you looking for some top-notch entertainment? Well, look no further. “Leeza McBride” has it all!
Let me introduce you. “Leeza McBride” is a mystery author who, in addition to writing, also teaches “How to Write a Novel” and “How to Get Published” classes through the Des Moines Public School system and the Iowa prison system.
Leeza travels around Iowa and neighboring states presenting a combined fun and educational program on how to write a novel and get it published. Plus, she tells some of the fun events that have happened in her writing life along with how she began her writing career. There’s always time to get your writing questions answered, too. It’s a fun way to spend a morning, afternoon or evening.
She can fit her fun, educational program to your time frame – whether you need twenty minutes, thirty minutes, an hour or even more. You got the time; she has the gift of gab! No event too big or too small! That’s right. Doesn’t matter if you have one attendee or a hundred! And, if she’s already visited you for a program, she’ll do it again. Always love seeing old friends!
